DIY Picture Tile Coasters
10:00 AM
My cousin's wedding is coming up and I am beyond excited for her new journey that she will begin. I wanted to make her wedding gift rather than buying it. I believe homemade gifts are more personable and they last longer. Since they will be moving in together when they get married I wanted to make a gift that would be great for their new home -- Picture Tile Coasters. These are so simple and it only takes about 45 minutes to perfect it. Here is what you will need:
- 4x4 Tiles -- you can get these at your local home improvement store. I got mines at Home Depot for 88 cents.
- 4x6 photos -- this will then be cut into 4x6's.
- Mod Podge 'Glossy' -- you can get at your local art store.
- Sponge Brush -- you can get at your local art store.
- Scissors
If your pictures are not the same size as your tiles, now is the time to measure and cut them like so.
Then get your mod podge and place a thin layer on the back of the photo, and onto the tile. Hold them together for about a minute. Once that is complete, start sealing the entire photo with mod podge. Apply one thin layer then allow to dry, once it is clear repeat this step 3 more times.
[NOTE: The mod podge will be applied white but will then dry clear. The purpose of mod podge is to seal the photo, this will keep the photo lasting longer.]
**Allow to dry for about a day or so, I've done this before and I piled them on one another and they got stuck so some were damaged sadly.
These are the completed tiles! There is some texture to the tiles due to the strokes, but personally I love the textures. This is such a super easy gift to do for Birthdays, Weddings, and Christmas. I'm so excited to give it to her!
What are some easy gifts that you love to make for those you love?
Best,
