Color Correcting 101

10:00 AM

My roommate and I have a Youtube channel called yingyangroomies and we have recently created an Instagram to start branding ourselves. On Instagram we are trying to create a segment called #tiptuesdays where we basically give tips on beauty trends, inspiration, and skin care. This past week we are doing color correcting and each day we are focusing on each type of color correcting for all skin types and recommending palettes. Here is the color correcting options in depth:

Green: neutralizes the color red, which is why green concealers are great for getting rid of any redness on your face. Use a green concealer to remove redness from a zit or acne scars.

Purple/lavender: are used for any unwanted yellow undertones on your skin. If you have dull, yellow skin. You can brighten your face up with a purple hue concealer or primer.

Pink/Salmon/Peach: The best for any skin tone for brightening around the eye area. Especially great for dark circles!

Yellow: is known for brightening your face. Wherever your face hits the light is where you should use yellow. It's perfect for hiding purple or blue bruises, veins, and under eye circles.

Orange: This color is perfect for people with darker skin tones looking to hide really dark circles or other spots. This color brightens as well. If you are lighter, go with a salmon orange instead of a bright orange.

Neutral: This would be your average concealer that you can use to hide little blemishes. You don't need much of it. Choose a shade lighter, and apply it to the needed areas.

Color correcting is a trend recently, what are some color correcting products that you recommend?
