Book Review #5: Room

To five-year-old-Jack, Room is the world....

Told in the inventive, funny, and poignant voice of Jack, Room is a celebration of resilience - and a powerful story of a mother and son whose love lets them survive the impossible.

This book was imaginative, all around creative, it hit every emotion for me. Jack and his mom live in a Room and to Jack it's the best place ever, to his Mom it's a prison where a man named "Old Nick" kept her since she was 19. In this story they go through daily struggle, happy moments, stressful events and relief.

It took me about 2 days to read this book because I couldn't possibly put it down. At times it had me on edge and I had to close the book to take a breather and continue with reading. The author greatly captured the mind of a 5 year old with her grammar, and what we think a 5 year old would think. It was very emotional to me, because although this wasn't a true story there are events that happen like this and it's sad to even know that it could happen. If you love to feel all of your emotions at once (lol) then this book is great for you. **It's also a movie!**

If you read this book already, what did you think about it? How did you react toward each chapter?

Best,
